Max Pomeranc

Max has spent his career in public policy and communications. He has worked across the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Since 2014, Max has been at the intersection of tech policy and regulation - through his leadership roles at Candid and Airbnb.

Currently, Max is Candid’s Vice President for Policy and Communications, where he leads the company’s state and local regulatory work, public relations and public affairs. Previously, he was Airbnb’s Head of Strategic Policy overseeing the company’s effort to scale its regulatory approach globally. In this role Max acted as the company’s primary Short Term Rental regulatory expert, tasked with building and refining the development of new strategies and best practices. His work integrated public opinion research, data science, and engineering to develop innovative ways to achieve key public policy and business goals.

Prior to this, he worked as a Campaign Director at Share Our Strength, a leading anti-hunger organization, where he helped drive the effort to change NYC Public School policies to increase access to school breakfast. During his time at Share Our Strength his work led to an increase of 235,000 meals being served to low-income students.

Max has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor Degree from McGill University.
